Important note: It is imperative that you re-authenticate as soon as you can after the upgrade. If you have not yet re-authenticated at least one time after the upgrade and you receive a reply from a donor, this message may not be captured. See What happens if my inbox is disconnected by the upgrade and I have not yet re-authenticated? for details. |
Overview
Overnight on Monday, January 6th, 2025, Raise's Email Integration will be undergoing a required version upgrade from our integration provider, Nylas. This version upgrade will take us from Nylas V2 to Nylas V3.
As a part of this upgrade, Nylas will require that all currently authenticated users re-authenticate the connection between Raise and their inboxes. All currently active connections will be disabled automatically during the upgrade.
If you're a currently authenticated user using Raise's Email Integration, you'll receive an automated notification letting you know when it's time to re-authenticate.
FAQs
Will anything change with my Raise experience?
No, nothing will change in your Raise workflow. Nylas V3 has all of the same functionality as Nylas V2, so apart from having to re-authenticate, you should not experience any changes.
I am on Gmail/Exchange Online/Exchange On-Prem. Will my email provider continue to be supported?
Yes, all email providers will continue to be supported. Currently, Exchange On-Prem users must use EWS to authenticate. If your Exchange On-Prem server does not have an EWS login (most do), then please contact the Raise team for more information.
When should I re-authenticate?
Keep an eye out for the re-authentication message on Tuesday, January 7th. It is imperative that you re-authenticate as soon as you can, so any donor emails that come in can be recorded in Raise and written back to your CRM.
What happens if my inbox is disconnected by the upgrade and I have not yet re-authenticated?
Under normal circumstances, Raise's Email Integration records donor replies automatically, even if you're required to re-authenticate. This will continue to be the case with Nylas V3, with one important exception:
You are required to re-authenticate one time after the upgrade to Nylas V3 in order to enable this functionality. After you re-authenticate one time, Raise will then continue to record donor replies automatically.
If you have not yet re-authenticated at least one time after the upgrade and you receive a reply from a donor, this message may not be captured. You will also be required to re-authenticate before sending any emails through Raise.
If you believe some donor replies were missed and you’d like to ensure these messages are captured by Raise, you can forward these emails to ai@gravyty.com after you re-authenticate and they will be recorded for you automatically.
Will I have to re-authenticate more often after the upgrade?
No, any periodic re-authentication that you must do is dictated by your email provider, not by Raise, and this won't change after the upgrade. You will continue to have to re-authenticate when changing your email inbox password, but you'll receive an alert when you must do so.
Why am I getting a 500 error when trying to edit a First Draft after the upgrade?
All prompts delivered before January 7th are using an older version of our Web Editor which is not compatible with Nylas V3. Trying to edit these older prompts will give a 500 error.
We recommend archiving or deleting these older prompts if they're causing confusion going forward.
First Draft, Follow Up and Situational Outreach prompts will be redelivered to you automatically—with an updated version of the Web Editor—throughout the course of your outreach.
Stewardship prompts won't be redelivered to you automatically. Instead, these prompts are available to you in the Stewardship section of your most recent Guide email. If you don't see the donor you're looking for, a full list of recent donors eligible for Stewardship is available by selecting the 'View all Outstanding Stewardship' link in your Guide:
Finally, if you're trying to edit an older Connect prompt, please reach out to support@gravyty.com.
