Generally, there are 3 types of actions you can take when you click “Skip This Donor” in a First Draft. (To learn more about an optional fourth option, “Recommend for Disqualification”, please click here.)
- Reach out to this donor next fiscal year - If you click on this option, the donor will be suppressed from your First Drafts at least until the start of your organization’s next fiscal year. If they make a gift in the meantime, you will still receive a Stewardship First Draft. Skipping until the next fiscal year will not prevent any first drafts you request (such as from the Guide or Fundraiser Dashboard) from being delivered to your inbox. You can still request a Birthday First Draft, for example.
- Already contacted this donor and Skip this donor for now - will suppress that donor from your First Draft prompts until you have been presented with the rest of the eligible donors in your portfolio. The size of your Raise portfolio and how quickly you work through your portfolio will determine how long a donor will be excluded from your First Draft emails.
Please Note: If you want to exclude a donor from your First Draft emails for a certain amount of time, the best thing to do is to Set a Follow Up, rather than use one of the skip options. By setting a Follow Up, you control when you are reminded to contact the donor, as well as having the ability to set how you would like to follow up (email, call, text, letter) and even provide a note about what to discuss in your follow up.
